Taylor Swift is making headlines again after reportedly having the most successful year of her life.

According to Luminate’s 2024 mid-year music report, Swift dominated mid-year album sales with her albumThe “Tortured Poets” section.

The report, which examines trends based on multiple data sets, found that the singer’s latest album achieved the highest sales in the U.S., with a total of 4.66 million copies sold.

Morgan Wallens followed One after the otherNoah Kahans Stock seasonBeyoncé’s Cowboy Carterand SZAs SOS.

In terms of total sales, the album is at the top, followed by Billie Eilish’sHit me hard, Cowboy CarterSwifts 1989 (Taylor’s version)And Lover.

Luminate also reported that 43 of the 46 artists with more than a billion on-demand streams in the U.S. had high distribution of their most streamed track.

Live music also saw an upswing among US consumers, accounting for 64 percent of all music-related spending.

According to the report, Generation Z spent the most on concerts, spending more than 23 percent more than the average U.S. music listener.

It is worth mentioning here that YouTube Shorts usage among US music listeners also increased between the second quarter of 2023 and 2024, making it a strong competitor to TikTok.
