This is the crossover between The Handmaid’s Tale and You that we didn’t know we needed

Penn Badgley from You and Madeline Brewer from The Handmaid’s Tale were spotted filming the fifth and final season of You in Central Park, serving as the ultimate crossover we didn’t know we needed.

It’s been a minute since Joe Goldberg and his psychotic antics last graced our screens, but fans of the series won’t have to wait too long to find out what the serial killer is up to, as the series finale will air later this year.

Although fans of “The Handmaid’s Tale” will have to wait a little longer for the sixth season (the events in the horrific dystopian world of Gilead will not reach our television screens until 2025), Brewer’s leading role in “You” keeps us entertained in the meantime.

Brewer is set to play Bronte, a mysterious and daring playwright who starts working at Joe’s new bookstore in London. We can only assume that this job will not have a positive outcome, as we’ve seen with most of Joe’s love interests (think Love Quinn from season two and Guinevere Beck in season one) meeting their demise.

The couple were photographed on set in Central Park and could be seen talking, smiling and laughing during and between takes. Brewer wore a red plaid shirt over a grey tank top and paired it with blue washed jeans and brown boots. True to Joe’s style, Badgley wore a simple outfit consisting of a dark blue shirt tucked into navy blue pants.

In another scene, Badgley puts on his infamous baseball cap that he usually uses to track his next target, which can only indicate that he is up to no good again in season five.

Elsewhere, Badgley stopped to take several photos with fans of the show watching from afar.

One of the fans in particular was wearing a t-shirt that read “Hello, you,” a famous phrase Goldberg usually says before starting a monologue while watching his current fixation.
