Blake Shelton will not return to The Voice

Blake Shelton has ruled out a return to “The Voice.”
The 47-year-old singer was one of the singing competition’s original coaches but left last year after 23 seasons and nine wins and has no plans to return to the show as a full-time coach “at some point” in the future.
He told E! News: “I did 23 seasons of the show and I enjoyed it, and when I got to the last season, it was time.”
“I looked at every reincarnation of the show we could think of to try to keep it exciting.
“I don’t want to sound like I’m no longer part of the family. Those were the most important years of my life when I worked as a coach on ‘The Voice’. But as far as the job goes, I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to do it again, as I sit here now.”
Instead, the ‘God’s Country’ singer, who met his wife Gwen Stefani on the show, wants to concentrate on his “main job”.
He said, “I had to go back to my day job, which was being a country singer.”
Blake is also busy with his new bar, Ole Red Las Vegas, and expects it to be a big hit with the country music fans who visit Sin City.
He said, “People love having a Nashville connection in Las Vegas because so many country music fans come to Las Vegas.
“Being able to take a break from gambling or whatever you’re doing here and just come in and have a beer and listen to some live country music is going to be so convenient.”
Blake recently reflected on how his life has completely changed since becoming stepfather to Gwen’s children Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and 10-year-old Apollo – whose father is Gavin Rossdale.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I learned quickly, not because anything happened, but just, you know, gauging the mood in the room, you really have to (think), ‘I need to step back.’
“When people say that when you have a child it’s not about you anymore… I think if you do it right, it’s not about you anymore. That’s true.”
“If I could repeat the last ten years, it would be perfect.
“Next month we’re having an 18-year-old, and I’m speechless that this has already happened. And in a few years we’ll have another 18-year-old.
“And that’s… I guess we’re going to be spending a lot more time alone, which I’m not mad about. But we still have Apollo, so we’ve got almost 10 years before we can kick him out, so it should be a lot of fun.”
