Animoca Brands Japan partners with BONSAI NFT CLUB to support traditional Japanese bonsai art on Web3

Animoca Brands Japan, a strategic subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with BONSAI NFT CLUB, the bonsai-themed NFT art project, to support traditional Japanese bonsai art on Web3.

As part of the partnership, Animoca Brands Japan will support BONSAI NFT CLUB’s global development in the areas of marketing and token strategy by leveraging Animoca Brands’ network, the duo said in a statement.

BONSAI NFT CLUB is a non-fungible token (NFT) project with a vision to transform bonsai, the traditional Japanese art of growing and shaping miniature trees, into content that art lovers around the world can enjoy.

The project has gained popularity thanks to the novel appeal of combining NFTs and bonsai and currently has more than 1,700 community members.

In recent years, the ancient art of bonsai has attracted considerable attention abroad through social media, especially on Instagram.

According to Business Research Insight, the global bonsai market size was $8.43 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow to $24.59 billion by 2031.

The partnership between Animoca Brands Japan and BONSAI NFT CLUB will leverage the knowledge and expertise of Animoca Brands Japan and the community created by BONSAI NFT CLUB to further increase the appeal of bonsai around the world.

Since its establishment in 2021, Animoca Brands Japan has supported the global expansion of Japanese IP and content owners in the Web3 space, including Square Enix’s “SYMBIOGENESIS”, Dorcom Inc. and HashPalette Inc.

Kensuke Amo, Chief Operating Officer of Animoca Brands Japan, said they are excited to partner with BONSAI NFT CLUB and support the global spread of traditional Japanese bonsai art through their network.

He pointed out that Animoca Brands Japan is committed to supporting the global expansion of Japanese intellectual property and content, as well as promoting the expansion of foreign projects in Japan.
