Hattiesburg selected as host venue for DBB World Series 2025

Hattiesburg selected as host venue for DBB World Series 2025

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (WDAM) – A “Grand Slam” was announced for the city of Hattiesburg Tuesday morning.

Next summer, teams from 11 different states will travel to Hattiesburg for the 2025 Dixie Boys Baseball World Series.

From July 25 to 30, 2025, thousands of people will flock to Hub City to watch the competition.

The World Series will be played at the newly renovated Jaycee Park Complex.

Officials say they look forward to more people coming to the Hub City next summer.

“When you bring teams from 11 states here with all their players, all their families and all their fans, they’re going to stay in your hotels, eat in your restaurants and that has a multi-day impact that benefits our economy,” says Hattiesburg Mayor Toby Barker.

“And that was exactly our vision when we built this new Cameron Field at Jaycee Park: a world-class facility that could host tournaments but also increase the interest of 13- and 14-year-olds in playing baseball.”

While they’re looking forward to next summer, Barker says they need help getting to this year’s World Series in South Carolina.
