Jackson White announces the death of his father Jack White, the ex-husband of Katey Sagal

Tell me lies Star Jackson White pays tribute to his father Jack White, who was married to his mother Katey Sagal from 1993 to 2000.

“This guy taught me everything,” White wrote on Instagram. “We had ups and downs, like a man with his father. But in the end, it was just love.”

The elder White was a drummer as well as an actor and technical consultant for ice hockey and figure skating on films such as Mighty ducks Trilogy and Jack Frost.

“He was an open book, a fighter, truly the funniest person my sister and I knew,” White continued, “and single-handedly invented the loudest, most powerful backbeat of any drummer I’ve ever seen. He’s no longer in pain. And we can remember him, 6’4″, wearing a denim shirt and a Starbucks muffin, driving us around and teaching us every important song ever written.”

Sagal also remembered her ex-husband and wrote in the comments: “Beautiful Jackson and beautiful Sarah, I will always be grateful to your father for you! Thank you, Jack❤️🙏. Finally free.”

Sagal played her son’s film mother in the first season of the Hulu series Tell me liesbased on the 2018 novel of the same name by Carola Lovering. The series traces the turbulent love affair between college freshman Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and college junior Stephen DeMarco (White) over a period of eight years.

“I wear his shoes every day,” White concluded. “No metaphor, he had really cool shoes. Big Jack White. 1954-2024. I love you, dad, forever.”
