A third film in the series has been rumored for years, but unfortunately nothing ever came of it. The most recent glimmer of hope for a third film came from producer Susan Downey, who reportedly didn’t rule out a return to the series, but hinted that the story would have to be right for Downey and Law to return. However, since Ritchie will direct the upcoming film, The young Sherlock series, the chances of ever seeing a third film are decreasing day by day.
