JOB On Broadway launches post-show discussion series

JOB On Broadway launches post-show discussion series

The new play JOB on Broadway will initiate a series of discussions after the performance.

The first event will be moderated by journalist Michael Barbaro, host of The New York Times’ “The Daily,” on Wednesday, July 24, immediately following the play’s performance at 7 p.m. Mr. Barbaro will be joined by acclaimed original cast members Peter Friedman and Sydney Lemmon, playwright Max Wolf Friedlich, and director Michael Herwitz.

Further discussions will be announced shortly.

After two long, sold-out shows downtown, the successful psychological thriller JOB is moving to Broadway for just 10 weeks. The New York Times critics’ recommendation is: “80 minutes of pure suspense. A great free-fall tower ride” (Vulture).

After being placed on leave following a viral incident, Jane will do anything to return to her job at a major tech company. But as a therapist who must approve it, Loyd suspects her work is doing more harm than good. With two can’t-miss performances from Tony Award nominees Peter Friedman (Ragtime, “Succession”) and Sydney Lemmon (Tár, “Fear the Walking Dead”), “don’t be alarmed if you find yourself holding your breath throughout the entire show” (Time Out New York).

The JOB creative team also includes scenic design by Scott Penner, costumes by Michelle J. Li, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, sound design by Cody Spencer, and original music by Devonté Hynes. Rachel A. Zucker serves as production manager, while ShowTown Theatricals/Samuel Dallas serves as general manager. Hannah Getts serves as dramaturg. The understudies for JOB are Jeff Still (Loyd) and Arianna Gayle Stucki (Jane).

Performances of the limited engagement began last night at the Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street) ahead of the opening night on Tuesday, July 30, and run through Sunday, September 29.
