Girl Named Tom, the beloved sibling band that won season 21 of “The Voice,” returns to Lakeside to once again wow audiences with their unique harmonious blend of voices. Girl Named Tom — comprised of Ohio natives Bekah, Joshua and Caleb Liechty — will perform at Hoover Auditorium on July 20 at 7:30 p.m.

This is the group’s third appearance at Lakeside.

“This time we’re going to focus more on our folk and our roots,” said Joshua. “We’re excited to bring you all a new set that includes your favorites that many of you have heard on The Voice, along with reimagined, stripped down versions of songs we’ve written, and we’re doing our best to highlight our trio mix as much as possible. Of course we’ll have some big, swinging numbers too, so hopefully you’ll be on the edge of your seat for the whole show.”

Even when the group plays cover songs, their unique style comes through and gives the song an original feel.

“We have carefully developed our style since we started singing as a trio in 2019,” said Bekah. “Being siblings gives us a head start in blending our voices. We took piano lessons and learned music theory from the age of nine. Today, my brothers and I continue to work on our arrangements to make sure they convince us, because if they convince us, we can hope they will reach others as well.”

The group’s success is largely due to their exceptional musical harmony, but they have also found harmony in their personalities.

“Just as having three unique voices is absolutely necessary for our success, it is also necessary to have three unique personalities,” Caleb said. “Like any other human being, our personality is influenced by our birth order, age and biology, and we firmly believe that having three different Enneagram numbers working together helps.”

Girl Named Tom will play their new original hit “Get a Little Lost” at Lakeside.

“We feel like this song has always been inside of us, just waiting to come out,” said Caleb. “Some of our fondest memories as a young band include the three of us driving across the country in our parents’ minivan, organizing and booking our first ever tour ourselves, and literally getting lost between cities, states, and national parks. The misdirections, mishaps, and surprises are what make this year so incredibly unique and special for us. And as we continue this wild journey of a music career, we need constant reminders that no path is straight and that failure is part of success. This song is a hopeful reminder that we all need.”

Bekah, Joshua and Caleb are looking forward to their return to Lakeside.

“This is our third performance at Lakeside and we are happy that the community there has had the opportunity to see us grow as musicians, artists and people,” said Joshua. “We felt very welcomed on our first visit and we enjoy it more each time we return. Everyone greets you with a smile and the natural beauty of the grounds takes my breath away every time.”
