Anthem singer goes to rehab

Anthem singer goes to rehab

Country singer Ingrid Andress has admitted she was drunk during her widely criticized performance of the national anthem before the MLB Home Run Derby on Monday night. In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, the four-time Grammy nominee apologized and said she was seeking help, KTLA reports. “I don’t want to talk bullshit – folks, I was drunk last night,” the 32-year-old wrote. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That’s not how I was last night.”

“I apologize to MLB, all the fans and this country I love so much for this performance,” Andress wrote. “I’ll tell you all what rehab is like. I hear it’s a lot of fun.” diversity noted that her performance at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, “seemed completely off from the moment she stepped on the microphone,” which was considered “highly out of character for a singer-songwriter who is considered an accomplished professional.” In a letter to fans ahead of her performance on Monday, Andress said she had spent time in her home state of Colorado after suffering from depression and breaking up with “some people who helped me make a name for myself.”

Fellow musicians also offered their support on social media. “Sending you love Ingrid. Being so open is a lot,” wrote country star Carly Pearce. “You can do this. Hang in there.” Singer Meghan Patrick wrote: “We all know what an incredibly talented singer and musician you are. We also know what this job can do to the strongest of us… we pray for your healing and peace.” (More stories from Ingrid Andress.)
