Everything we know about the hit HBO series

Everything we know about the hit HBO series

Euphoria was one of HBO’s biggest hits. That’s saying something, considering the network was home to smash hits like The Sopranos and Game of Thrones. Not only did Euphoria deliver stylish visuals and dramatic storylines, it was also an incredible launching pad for a number of young actors and gave birth to a new generation of performers ready to shape the future of Hollywood. After three years in limbo, HBO has finally announced new developments. Here’s everything we know about Euphoria Season 3:

When does season 3 return?

Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney

A lot of information about Euphoria season 3 is being kept under wraps, but HBO has confirmed that production on the series will begin in January 2025. According to this timeline, the earliest the series could premiere is eight to ten months after production wraps, so we’ll likely have season 3 in early 2026, two years from now.

“I’m thrilled to begin production on Euphoria in January,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and movies, in an official press release. “We couldn’t be happier with our creative partnership with (creator) Sam (Levinson) and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for fans.”

Are all the actors returning?

It has been confirmed that some of the main cast of the series will return for a new season. These names include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney.

What will the show be about?

The plot of the new season of the series has been kept top secret and has been revised several times over the past three years. It seems like Sam Levinson could have been interested in having Rue (Zendaya) work as a private investigator, but that idea seems to have been scrapped. At the end of the second season, Rue seemed to embrace her recovery, a new step in her development. It’s likely that the new season will explore her path to recovery.

How old are these children again?

Euphoria premiered in 2019. Five years have passed since then and only two seasons have been released, making it one of HBO’s slowest releases. Although the characters were all set in high school, the series will likely jump ahead in time considering the ages of the actors, who are now in their late 20s.
