Clemson wins Palmetto Series title against Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Clemson University has won the 2023-2024 Palmetto Series trophy.

According to the SC Lottery, the Tigers won this year’s head-to-head contest against the Gamecocks with a final score of 7-6.

The Tigers defeated the Gamecocks in men’s soccer, football, men’s basketball, baseball, women’s cross country and men’s golf, earning the point for most Palmetto Fellows scholars capturing the title.

“We are privileged to be in a state where there is such a strong rivalry in many athletic and academic areas, and we know how proud our state is of its colleges and its athletic programs. We look forward to the opportunity to defend our title next year as we prepare for the 50th anniversary of the championship.”th year of collegiate women’s athletics at Clemson,” said Clemson athletic director Graham Neff.

The Palmetto Series points race began in August and ended in May.

According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, points were awarded to the winner of each meeting between the two schools, and points were also awarded to the school with the most lottery scholarships.

As well as for most entries into the lottery’s Carolina vs. Clemson promotion.

The trophy will be presented to Clemson University during its football game against Appalachian State on September 7.

The Palmetto Series is sponsored by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
