Golf: Alexandria Golf Club hosts tournaments for members and guests – Alexandria Echo Press
ALEXANDRIA – The Alexandria Golf Club has been busy hosting member/guest tournaments lately.
Most recently, the club hosted its Lakes to Links Members/Guests Tournament from July 11-13.
Luke Aabel (member) and his guest Zach Kier won the title on Saturday, July 13. The duo earned a close victory over Carl Vaagenes and his guest Tim Bush to take the title.
Vaagenes and Bush were one of two wildcard teams to make it to the finals, the other being Craig Crosby and Karl Hammerstorm.

In the skills competition, Bryant Black won the putting competition by defeating Luke Filkowski, Andrew Lindberg, Scott Stockmoe and Chris Cattoor. Jim Kuhn won the putting competition closest to the pin, while Black took second and Aabel took third.
The Women’s Members Guest Tournament took place on Wednesday, July 10th.
Karla Jones (member) and her guest Marlena Grant won the net title with a score of 59.
Teri Martin (member) and her guest Ruth Larson took second place with a net score of 62.
The team of Sarah Hnath and Kathy Brown took second place, while Jan Esala and Wendy Nelson took third, Judy Panek and Jane Case took fourth, Tammy Van Orsdel and Susan Mackay took fifth, and Vanessa Bruggeman and Rose Lambrose took sixth.
Cathy Klick and Lauren Klick took second place in gross score (75)
The Women’s Member Guest Tournament was in memory of Carol Meyer and benefited West Central Minnesota Communities Action.
