New horror series from Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers

Stranger Things is about to end, but Netflix wants to stay in business with the Duffer brothers for many more years.

The streaming giant says it has a new “atmospheric horror series” called Something very bad is going to happenHaley Z. Boston is the creator and showrunner of the series, with the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt producing under their banner Upside Down Pictures.

The logline for Something very bad is going to happen describes it as “an atmospheric horror series set at a wedding, following the bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials. This is not a spoiler – just read the title…”

“We were speechless when we first read Haley’s script,” Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement. “She is a great new talent with a unique voice – her writing style is twisted, terrifying, funny and just… very Haley. We feel so lucky to be producing her first show and we can’t wait to share her vision with the rest of the world.”

The brothers are currently producing the final season of Stranger Things for Netflix and have a handful of other projects with the streamer in the pipeline, including the series The districtswhose production begins in the fall; and a live-action adaptation of the manga series Death notice.

Boston is also known to Netflix as Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities And Brand new cherry flavor.
