Octavia Spencer, October Films Book ID Returns

True crime network Investigation Discovery has renewed Octavia Spencer’s documentary series from Orit Entertainment and October Films Lost Women And The government.

The new Lost Women Season 3 focuses on the brutal murders of two Alaska Native women and the shocking investigation that led to the arrest of the sadistic killer. A new season of The government will continue to give viewers insights into America’s elite crime-fighting agency, the FBI. Spencer will continue to serve as executive producer on both series and Lost Women.

A new season of The government will continue to provide unprecedented access to the FBI and our next episode of Lost Women will feature a new case that addresses an ongoing crisis faced by Indigenous victims whose cases often remain not only unsolved but unresolved,” Spencer said.

Building on the first season of The Lost Women of Highway 20the next episode of Lost Women The franchise will continue to focus on cases that “provoke important conversations about the treatment of women in society.” The new season of offers a comprehensive and disturbing look at the murders of Veronica Abouchuk and Kathleen Jo Henry, two Indigenous women killed in 2018 and 2019. Lost Women chronicles the tumultuous events that led to the arrest of Brian Steven Smith. On February 22, 2024, Smith was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder. The three-part docuseries will chronicle the gripping journey that led to his conviction and the courage of some unlikely heroes who helped solve the case and offered a glimmer of hope in a landscape marked by injustice.

The government will continue to provide unprecedented access to the FBI, with exclusive interviews with FBI agents, and will detail other spectacular, dangerous and unusual cases from the perspectives of agents, informants, undercover investigators and victims.
