Stabbing in New York City subway: 39-year-old man stabbed to death after argument in Manhattan station, police say

MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) — A 39-year-old man was stabbed to death in a Manhattan subway station on Friday, police said.

Shortly before 6 p.m., officers arrived at 175th Street A Station on reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a stab wound to his body, police said.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals in Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the victim was on the mezzanine floor when an argument broke out with the suspect.

The reason for the dispute remains under investigation.

No arrests are made.

MTA Communications Director Tim Minton said in a statement: “This was a senseless attack that extended from the street to the subway, and we offer our full cooperation in the investigation and are confident that the NYPD will quickly identify and arrest the perpetrator.”

Since 6:13 p.m., A trains have been bypassing 175th Street in both directions while the NYPD continues its investigation.

You can get to 175th Street by taking the No. 1 train or the M100 bus.
