Taylor Swift has by far the most successful album of 2024

Taylor Swift’s latest album The “Tortured Poets” section was named the most successful album of 2024 so far, according to Luminate’s mid-year report. The superstar’s project is the most consumed in the country, and she had no real competition for the top spot.

The “Tortured Poets” section has sold 4.66 million equivalent units, according to Luminate. That number includes both pure purchases and streaming equivalent units. Swift’s new set outperformed in both metrics and might have landed at No. 1 if only streams or only sales were counted.

Swift is by far the number one in the half-year rankings; so far no other album has exceeded the two million mark.

The second biggest title in the US this year is not from 2024. Morgan Wallens One after the other is in second place with 1.776 million units sold.

Wallens One after the other was a blockbuster when it was released in 2023, and it has continued to sell and stream exceptionally well throughout the year. Despite its success The “Tortured Poets” section has outperformed Wallen’s blockbuster, selling more than two and a half times as many copies as its closest competitor.

The “Tortured Poets” section is also the best-selling album of 2024 in America. The title has sold 2.474 million copies. Wallen’s One after the other does not appear in the top 10 list of the country’s best-selling projects this year.

Swift debuted The “Tortured Poets” section at number 1 on the Billboard 200 in May. The set opened with 2.6 million units sold and is considered one of the most impressive starts of all time.

Since then, The “Tortured Poets” section has ruled the Billboard 200 with an iron fist. The track has now spent a dozen weeks at No. 1 on the chart. No other full-length album has managed to dethrone it, although recent offerings from stars like Billie Eilish, Zach Bryan and Dua Lipa – among others – have tried.
