Gautam Adani amazed by US envoy Eric Garcetti’s love for Kadak Chai and Chhole Bhature

Ahmedabad:

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said today he was amazed at the embrace of Indian culture by Eric Garcetti, the US ambassador to India – from drinking Chai to enjoy chhole bhature.

Earlier, Mr Garcetti visited Adani Group’s Khavda Renewal Energy Facility in Gujarat and said it was an educational experience on how the company is helping India move closer to its zero-emissions goals.

In a post on social media platform X, Gautam Adani expressed his gratitude for the US envoy’s visit to Adani’s 30 GW renewable energy plant in Khavda as well as its flagship port Mundra.

“Invaluable insights into geopolitics, energy transition and India-US relations in an open and honest question-and-answer session with Adanians,” said Gautam Adani.

“It is amazing to see his adoption of Indian culture, from drinking Kadak Chai to celebrating Holi and cricket to speaking Hindi and eating Chole Bhature daily,” he added.

The Adani Group is developing the world’s largest renewable energy project of 30,000 MW on brownfield land at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat. The project is spread over 538 km², five times the size of Paris and almost the size of the city of Mumbai.

“Inspired by my visit to the Khavda Renewal Energy Facility in Gujarat, where I learned about @AdaniGreen’s innovative projects that are driving India’s net-zero emissions goals,” Mr. Garcetti previously posted on X.

He said sustainable energy is a cornerstone of environmental protection.

“Our bilateral partnership is key to developing solutions for a cleaner and greener future for the region and the world,” noted Mr. Garcetti.

The commissioning of the first 2 GW of the world’s largest renewable energy power plant in Khavda within 12 months of the groundbreaking ceremony represents a record.

Spread over 8,000 hectares, Mundra Economic Hub offers investment opportunities as the largest multi-product Special Economic Zone, Free Trade and Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) and domestic industrial zone. Mundra, the first port of APSEZ, welcomed its maiden ship in 1998. Since then, the company has built a network of 15 ports and terminals on the east and west coasts of the country. The flagship port of Mundra was the first in India to handle 16 million tonnes of cargo in a single month (October 2023).
