Shannen Doherty‘s mother, Rosa Dohertybreaks her silence about the death of her daughter.

“She is my beautiful girl and my heart,” Rosa, 76, said in a statement to People on Monday, July 15. “Our family would like to thank everyone who has shown our Shannen love and support throughout her life. We are truly grateful.”

Doherty died on Saturday, July 13, at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in 2015.
