SamanTree Medical raises  million in Series B

SamanTree Medicala medical device company based in Lausanne, Switzerland, has raised $14 million in its second round of financing.

The round was led by Relyens Innovation Santé, advised by Turenne Capital, with participation from new investors Mutuelles Impact, Wille Finance, Noshaq and WE Life Sciences (Wallonie Entreprendre), as well as returning investors Panakès Partners, BOM and b2venture. As part of this financing round, SamanTree Medical will establish its headquarters and an operational base in Wallonia (Belgium), while its R&D activities will remain in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop and commercialize the Histolog® scanner, expand its reach in Europe and the US, and expand its digital offering.

SamanTree Medical aims to improve patient outcomes during surgical procedures through medical imaging solutions. The company has developed the Histolog Scanner, a device that provides high-resolution images of fresh tissue surfaces in real time during surgical procedures, thus significantly improving the accuracy of tissue sampling or biopsies. The device covers a wide range of surgical applications and is currently being marketed in Europe. It is still in the trial phase in the USA.
