Taylor Swift (“Tortured Poets”) tops the Billboard 200 for the twelfth time, displacing another artist from number 1 – GoldDerby

Taylor Swift has reached a new personal milestone: With “The Tortured Poets Department” she spent the 12th consecutive week at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. This makes it her longest-staying album of all time. It is also the first album by a woman to spend its first 12 weeks at number one. But that means that the country singer Zach Bryan had to settle for second place. For more information on this week’s charts, visit Billboard.com.

“Tortured Poets” actually rose 43%, reaching 163,000 album units based on combined record sales, single track sales and online streams. This increase was fueled by Swift restocking several album variants on her webstore and releasing three additional digital variants with exclusive bonus tracks. This meant that the 137,000 album units of Bryan’s “The Great American Bar Scene” were not enough to take the number one spot. He joins a growing list of artists Swift has knocked off the top spot, including Billie Eilish (“Hit me hard and soft”), Gunna (“One of Wun”), Dua Lipa (“Radical Optimism”) and Gracie Abrams (“The Secret of Us”). Time will tell how many variants Swift still has in store.

In the meantime, Morgan Wallace“One Thing at a Time” by ‘s fell one place to number three with 69,000 units. “Hit Me Hard and Soft” held on to number four with 58,000 units. And Chappell Roan“The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” maintained its fifth place with 54,000 copies.

In our weekly Billboard 200 prediction contest, most players thought “The Great American Bar Scene” would finally unseat “Tortured Poets” at number one. But our consensus was correct that the top album would reach between 150,000 and 199,999 copies.
