At 53, singer and rapper Missy Elliott announces her first ever tour; here’s why

Missy Elliott’s first-ever headline tour kicked off in Los Angeles earlier this month and was ”Heavenly” in the truest sense of the word. The 53-year-old rapper and R&B legend will be touring the United States over the next few months. Although she is a major league artist who has collaborated with several well-known musicians and won four Grammy Awards and several MTV Video Music Awards, little is known to the public about her career and music.

Ironically, the tour coincides with the 25th anniversary of Elliott’s second album Da Real World, which included hit singles: “She’s a bitch,” “All n My Grill“, And “Hot guys.”

She broke into the music scene in the mid-1990s and quickly became known for her innovative style and genre-bending sound. Missy’s debut album Supa Dupa Bow Tie (1997) was a huge hit, with the iconic single “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” This album laid the foundation for her future success and established her as a driving force in the industry.
