Sexyy Red announces new song with Dream collaborator Tyler, The Creator

Sexyy Red is on the rise. The rapper has teamed up with some of the biggest names in the genre, including Chief Keef, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. These collaborations have resulted in crossover hits, but Sexyy has yet to achieve her dream collaboration. Or rather, she hasn’t released it yet. The rapper was asked which artist she would like to collaborate with if given the chance during the Wireless Festival. Not only did she name the artist, but she also told fans that the collaboration has already happened.

“I finally did my dream collaboration,” Sexyy Red told Wireless’ reporter Tyler, The Creator. It’s hard to imagine what a mix of the two rappers’ styles would sound like. Still, Sexyy Red has made a point of emphasizing her artistic abilities lately. She spoke about her process, and the hate she got for it, during an appearance on HBO’s The business. Here she admitted that she had self-confidence issues. “I get nervous when I meet people because I’m a shy person,” she explained. “And I didn’t know what he would be like. I don’t care what people think of me.”

Sexyy Red met Tyler, The Creator at a Drake concert

Controversy is something Tyler, The Creator is familiar with. Much like Sexyy Red, Tyler faced criticism and backlash early in his career for his lyrical themes. It’s easy to see why Sexyy Red feels such a connection with the “EARFQUAKE” rapper. Sexyy Red hasn’t revealed when her collaboration with Tyler, The Creator will be released. Both Sexyy and Tyler have had recent releases, and Tyler isn’t expected to be released again until 2025. Hopefully, we’ll get the untitled collaboration sooner rather than later.

Sexyy Red and Tyler, The Creator have known each other for a while. The two actually met during Drake’s concert in Los Angeles in 2023. Red was the opening act and she got the chance to pose for photos with Tyler after her set. The former posted the photos, as well as a video of her and Tyler hugging, on Twitter. “My dreams came true,” she wrote in the caption. The photos went semi-viral, and the Odd Future rapper then poked fun at himself. “I’ve been hiding it but the cat’s out of the bag,” he wrote on Instagram. “I have a BBL, this is not Photoshop.” The comment proved fitting, as Drake would eventually collaborate with Sexyy Red on the “BBL Drizzy” beat.
