Gary Janetti was surprisingly “never interested in the royal family” despite famous memes about Prince George
Sorry, Royal Family fans, Gary Janetti does not keep pace with the monarchy.
“I have never really been interested in the royal family,” said 58-year-old Janetti We weekly exclusively during the promotion of his third volume of essays, There will be slight delays“I know, this seems strange to me.”
Janetti’s Instagram account gained popularity after he Prince George — the eldest son of Prince William And Princess Kate Middleton and future King of England – into a meme with his own voice. “For me, it was all just fictional. It was just a world that I created based on a personality that I gave them,” Janetti explained to Us. “It was never something that interested me at all. Isn’t that weird?”

Janetti explained that it was “liberating” for him to give George, now ten years old, his own satirical reactions to everything that was going on with the British royals at the time – from Prince Harry And Meghan Markles wedding in 2018 to commenting on the palace’s birthday posts.
“I had nothing to do with any of it. It was just meant to be silly, and that was it,” he added. “I didn’t even know some of the names or who the people were.”
As his Instagram account became more “popular” and Janetti wanted to include more members of the royal family, he wondered, “Who are their children?”
When it comes to his favorite member of the royal family, Janetti said he has the late Princess Diana. Apart from the former Princess of Wales, he is out.
Janetti’s latest book of essays, There will be slight delayswas published on July 9th and describes various trips across the pond. He also added a few hilarious remarks addressed to his book editor, Jonathan Burnhamwho is British.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to say anything about Brits and excessive drinking, Jonathan. Even though we all think that,” Janetti joked at one point in the book. Burnham was also mentioned in the book’s acknowledgements.
“To my editor, for being keen and encouraging, and for having enough good humor (British spelling) to allow me to mention him in these pages,” Janetti wrote.
The author told Us that Burnham had no idea about all this until the book was edited.
“I didn’t tell him I was doing it, he only read it at the end,” Janetti admitted. “I thought, ‘I hope he has a sense of humor.'”
