Netflix releases explosive teaser trailer for anime series TERMINATOR ZERO

Judgement Day is just around the corner and Netflix has given us a sneak peek of the upcoming anime series Terminator Zero. The highly anticipated series from Production IG and Skydance Television received a new teaser trailer today and is full of excitement and action.

While Terminator Zero is in the same Terminator universe like the films, it shifts the focus to Japan and to a group of characters we haven’t yet met. Time travel is again a big focus, as the story jumps back and forth between 2022, the future war between man and machine, and 1997, when the AI ​​known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

“Trapped between the future and the past sits a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity.” is the summary. “She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is working to develop a new AI system to counter Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm grapples with the moral complexities of his creation, he finds himself hunted by a relentless assassin from the future, changing the fate of his three children forever.

The teaser is actually narrated by this resistance fighter, whose name is Eiko (voiced by House of the Dragon -Star Sonoyo Mizuno.

“It’s not what you think. You can’t see it yet.” Eiko warns. “But you’ve been on a collision course your whole life.”

“There’s no going back. Not really. It will never, ever stop. There’s only one thing standing between you and him.” She carries on. “Me.”

During all this, we see brief snippets of the nuclear attacks, Timothy Olyphant’s Terminator hunt, and other chaotic action.

Terminator Zero is directed by Masashi Kudo at the animation studios Production IG (Ghost in the Shell, Kaiju No. 8) and Skydance Television. Mattson Tomlin serves as showrunner and is also responsible for series composition.

As previously announced, the voice cast includes Timothy Olyphant as the voice of the Terminator; Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) as Kokori, an advanced AI that serves as Japan’s own Skynet competitor; André Holland (Moonlight) as Malcolm Lee, the computer programmer who developed Kokoro; Sonoyo Mizuno (House of the Dragon)as Eiko, a resistance fighter who is sent back in time to stop Malcolm from blowing up Kokoro; and Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale) as a prophet, a philosophical guide for human resistance.

Terminator Zero The premiere on Netflix is ​​scheduled for August 29, the anniversary of the Last Judgement.
