The viral “Hawk Tuah Girl” (real name Haliey Welch) has infiltrated every corner of the internet, including anthemic heavy metal. Yes, there’s now an original song about today’s biggest internet star who rose to overnight fame.

The song was uploaded to a YouTube channel (named Hawk Tuah) created on June 24. Incredibly, the username was available, so hats off to this quick thinker.

The song is accompanied by an image from an action movie parody, with Welch’s head resting on the body of an armed soldier leaning out of a helicopter, a stream of spit spraying from his mouth.

Who is the “Hawk Tuah Girl”?

Haliey Welch, 21, went viral after a video clip was posted of a June 11, 2024, street interview in Nashville, Tennessee. She jokingly responded to a question about intimacy, saying, “You gotta give them the ‘Hawk Tuah’ and spit on the thing.” She and her friend both continued to laugh, continuing the joke throughout the video, which was not seen in the edited clip shown below.

The clip made the rounds on the internet and some of the biggest influencers shared the video, increasing its popularity.

Since then, Welch, who lives in Belfast, Tennessee, has been interviewed by prominent media outlets and has even hired a manager. She earns money through contracted public appearances and has turned down roles in horror films and appearances in American Idolaccording to Hollywood Reporter.
