Shannen Doherty’s ex Ashley Hamilton pays tribute to her death

Shannen DohertyEx-husband Ashley Hamilton has spoken out after her death and revealed that she once helped him through a difficult time in his life.

“Shannen was not just my wife, she was my guardian angel,” said Hamilton, who was married to Doherty from 1993 to 1994. TMZ on Monday, July 15. “Even though things don’t always go the way we hope, she stood by me through some of my darkest times. My love and admiration for her lasted much longer than our short-lived marriage.”

Doherty died on Saturday, July 13, after a nearly decade-long battle with breast cancer. She was 53 years old.

Hamilton, 49, added: “Seeing her fight this terrible disease with such stoicism was an inspiration to many, but even more so to me as a cancer survivor myself.”

But Hamilton — the actor’s son George Hamilton And Alana Stewart — watched Doherty’s fight from the sidelines and told TMZ Unfortunately, he never contacted his ex-wife after she told him of the diagnosis.

“The world has lost a free-spirited soul and my heart aches for her and all who loved her,” Hamilton said. “May she rest in peace.”

Hamilton was Doherty’s first husband after the actress was briefly engaged to the cosmetics heir Dean Jay Factor Early 1993. The Beverly Hills, 90210 Alum began dating Hamilton shortly thereafter, and the couple married less than a month later in September 1993. Doherty filed for divorce in April 1994.

Doherty later married a poker player Rick Salomon in 2002, but the marriage was annulled after only nine months.

In October 2011, Doherty married photographer Kurt Iswarienkowith whom Doherty was involved in divorce proceedings until shortly before her death. According to documents filed on Friday, July 12, – one day before her death – Doherty and Iswarienko announced that they would finalise their divorce amicably.

Doherty originally filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April 2023 after eleven years of marriage.

According to the documents, the divorced couple filed a joint declaration of divorce.

“This matter will proceed as an uncontested action,” court documents state. Doherty also waived her right to spousal support, writing, “I knowingly and forever waive any right to spousal or partner support.”

Since Doherty’s death, many of her famous co-stars and friends have expressed their condolences, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Holly Marie Combs, Olivia Munn And Tori Spelling.
