Taylor Swift says performing Eras tour in Milan was ‘a dream come true’

The Milanese gave Taylor Swift a great time.

After performing two shows at the San Siro in the Italian city on July 13 and 14, the 34-year-old pop superstar took to Instagram to express her gratitude in a heartfelt post.

“WOW. MILAN,” Swift’s caption began on July 15. “Those were seriously two of my favorite crowds ever.”

The Grammy winner continued, “The passion and generosity you have shown us… it was a dream come true to perform for you. Grazi mille!! We will be back!!”

Swift’s performances in Milan were quite eventful. During the July 13 performance, she began coughing after swallowing a virus in the middle of the Secret Songs leg of the Eras tour.

“I knew it was going to happen because there are so many bugs here tonight,” she told the anxious crowd amid a surprise mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew,” both from Red.

“I’ll be OK, I just have to cough a little bit,” Swift added before continuing with the rest of the performance – just as she had done when she previously swallowed bugs at the Era Tours shows in London in June and in Chicago in 2023.

The singer-songwriter of “All Too Well” also presented new outfits at her shows in Milan. Fearless In the “Era” segment on July 13, Swift wore a brand new Roberto Cavalli minidress, designed by creative director Fausto Puglisi, who was also in attendance at the show.

On the same day, Swift changed her Vivienne Westwood dress for the Department for Tortured Poets era. While the ensemble usually wears the lyrics to “Fortnight” on their skirts, the new version in Milan had the lyrics to “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” instead.

In addition, while performing a mashup of CallDuring the performance of “Getaway Car” and “Out of the Woods” on July 14 in Milan, Swift experienced a piano malfunction.

“We finally broke this thing,” Swift told the crowd as she looked under the piano’s lid while a crew member attempted to repair the instrument, as seen in a fan video shared on TikTok.

According to another fan, a video on X (formerly Twitter) shows the triumphant moment after the piano was repaired. Swift closed the lid and said, “Oh, I did it!”

The current European leg of the Eras Tour will continue from July 17 to 19 with three shows at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

Swift will then perform throughout Germany, Poland, Austria and England before concluding her tour on August 20. After that, the Eras Tour will return to the US from October 18 to December 8.
