Compiled by Walt’s grandson Walter ED Miller, along with Executive Director Kirsten Komoroske and museum staff to mark the 15th anniversary of the Walt Disney Family Museum, the book features over 250 images of valuable Disney family artifacts from the museum’s extensive collection and the Disney family’s personal archives that are significant to Walt’s personal and professional life. Some of these are only on display at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California, while others have never been on public display.

“Every object featured in this book tells a story – some of them well-known Disney stories, others rarely told. Each is an important building block in building a global empire, but also reveals who Walt Disney really was,” says Miller. “Just like a museum visit in San Francisco, California, readers can now discover Walt’s story like never before.”

Among the unique personal treasures featured in the book are Walt’s handwritten designs of Epcot, a bronze hat he gave to his wife Lillian, original animation drawings from Disney cartoons, concept art for Disneyland attractions, Walt’s miniature steam engine Lilly Belle, and Walt’s record-breaking collection of Academy Awards.
