The City of Taylor dedicates a day of activities for the whole family and calls it “Friday Family Fun Day.”
The event will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion, 12111 Pardee Road (in Heritage Park).
The organizers want to make this day a magical experience for children and adults in the truest sense of the word.
Animal magic is performed on site.

The show starts at 1pm
It is one of many events planned throughout the day.
Metroparks Mobile Learning Center is ready to arrive and reach out to the children.

Shopping will surely be a breeze at Taylor Made Market.
In addition to all these attractions, there will be a variety of arts and crafts exhibitions and the children will surely enjoy the superhero characters that will be there.
A big plus of the event, according to the organizers, is access to the city’s splash pad, which is connected to the pavilion.
While participation in the event is free, admission to the Splash Pad is charged at regular price.
These tariffs are:
• Taylor residents, all ages, $2 (children 1 year and older and adults)
• Non-Taylor residents $5 (children 1 year and older and adults)
• Children under 1 year are free.

The fun day comes at a difficult time for the Taylor Animal Shelter, which the event supports.
Just last month, the animal shelter announced that it could not temporarily take in any more animals and that its capacity was exhausted.
“The shelter will not be accepting surrenders until spaces reopen, and space for strays is very limited,” said a post on the shelter’s social media account.
Because the animal shelter is at full capacity, the staff is unable to provide adequate care for the animals. There is also insufficient capacity to take them away for cleaning.
“When the shelter is overwhelmed, there is a greater risk of disease outbreak,” the post said.
There is usually a designated area at the shelter where visitors can view some of the animals.
