Love Fund launches 2024 school supply drive to benefit local children | FOX 4 Kansas City WDAF-TV

KANSAS CITY, Missouri —The Love Fund is preparing to return 8,000 students to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Already, great community partners like 15 and Mahomies are ready to help and you can too!

Tune in on July 18, 2024, when the FOX4 team hosts the Back to School Telethon starting at 7 a.m. We will interview everyone involved, school officials, and detail how your donations directly impact students in our area.

A $25 donation covers all school supplies for one student. You do not have to purchase school supplies to donate. We work with suppliers to get great deals. For every $25 donation, a backpack is filled with age-appropriate supplies for a child in need in KC. Our goal is to Fill 8,000 backpacks for students in need – that makes our fundraising goal is $200,000! Please help us reach this goal by donating using the link above and ensuring that every child in our community who needs school supplies has them on their first day of school.

Or show your support to one of these community partners who are also collecting for the children.

  • Throughout July – food and donations in all Taco Naco locations and round up the amount to donate.
  • Sundays in July – play at Craft Putt and a portion of the proceeds will go to school supplies.
  • July 17, 2024 – take the day off and order from Minksys. Mention the Love Fund or enter “LOVE25” at checkout and 25% of sales will go to the Love Fund.
  • July 18, 2024 – Get a dozen donuts from Mr. D’s Donut Shop and a percentage will benefit the children.
  • July 21, 2024: Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at Betty Rae’s. Your purchase of a sweet treat benefits the Love Fund.

FOX4 Love for Children was founded 40 years ago by a group of FOX4 employees. That small group has grown into a 501c3 nonprofit that has helped thousands of children in our community, meeting needs that other charities would otherwise not address.
