This year, the La Grange Optimist Club added a summer track and field program to its already extensive sports program (volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football) offered by the local civic organization. And it didn’t take long for the track and field program to take off. Over 100 local children participated in a series of track and field meets in June, competing against other area track and field teams. Last Friday, 52 La Grange Optimist Club members competed in the summer track and field meet.
