Death toll in Gaza war rises to 38,664 in more than nine months

The death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza has risen to 38,664 since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that at least 80 Palestinians were killed and 216 others injured in the last 24 hours alone.

On Monday, the ministry announced that the death toll from the Israeli occupation forces’ brutal massacre of displaced people at the Abu Oreiban school in the Nuseirat camp on Sunday had risen to 22 dead and over 100 injured.

In a related context, the Director of the Gaza Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Media Office said that more than 190 UNRWA facilities were destroyed during the war in Gaza. In press statements, she added that, unfortunately, despite the daily transmission of the coordinates of our facilities to the Israeli side, there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced: “Following the return of our resistance fighters from the battle lines, we confirm that a group of occupation soldiers was killed and wounded when a rocket abandoned by the enemy detonated in two tanks surrounded by several soldiers near Roundabout 17 in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, south of Gaza City.”

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, said they bombarded the occupation forces and vehicles near the Awadallah junction in the middle of the Yabna camp, south of the city of Rafah, with a volley of .60-caliber mortar shells. They added: “Our mujahideen confirmed that the helicopter landed near the target location to evacuate the dead and injured.”

The Al-Quds Brigades added that it attacked a group of occupation soldiers in a residential building at the Awadallah junction in the middle of the Yabna camp, south of the city of Rafah, with a “TPG” grenade and confirmed that the group was killed or wounded.
