“Shannen Doherty had the heart of a lion. Passion for the craft is often mistakenly viewed as a problem. Shannen was passion,” McGowan wrote under the post.

“I met her in the 90s and was impressed. To really get to know her later in life was a beautiful gift. This woman was fighting for her life.”

McGowan said the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum knew how to “become a star” because “she has been one since she was a child” and had an inspiring work ethic.

“Shannen’s great love for directing, acting, (‘Charmed’ co-star) Holly (Marie Combs), her friends, her parents, her dog and her beloved fans was legendary,” the “Scream” actress continued. “Our lives were intertwined in a unique way.”

Alluding to the infamous drama on the set of “Charmed” between Doherty and Alyssa Milano, McGowan wrote that there were “dark forces” that wanted her and Doherty to “hate each other,” but McGowan and Doherty chose “love and respect” instead.

“May angels and God carry her to the holy kingdom where she will be healthy, young and fierce forever,” McGowan concluded. “Rest now warrior, we will never forget you dear sister 🎭.”
