International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) publishes action plan for strategic direction 2024-2028

International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) publishes action plan for strategic direction 2024-2028

From IATUL:

IATUL’s strategic directions were developed in consultation with the IATUL member community at conferences and seminars during 2022-2023. To articulate how IATUL will work toward these goals, each strategic direction has five objectives, which are now provided with associated actions in a strategic action plan.

This action plan was developed by a working group of the IATUL Board (C. Eckman, C. Pang, JK Vijayakumar, and K. Jones), using a framework of ideas and feedback from the IATUL Board and stakeholders in 2024.

It describes how IATUL will achieve its goals through detailed steps with accountability and increased efficiency. The strategic action plan is reviewed annually and may change as new requirements and opportunities arise.

The main topics of the action plan include:

  • Further strengthening the core mission of IATUL by supporting the development of our membership through:
  1. Events such as the annual conference and partnerships with other organizations to participate in events together
  2. Opportunities to collaborate with other IATUL members through SIGs and research grants
  3. Networking on topics within existing and new SIGs
  • Focus on leadership developmentin particular through the establishment of a new Special Interest Group – SIG Leadership
  • Greater organizational efficiency by updating systems for communication and sharing resources
