Eminem gives instructions to anyone listening to the new album after a “devastating” song about his daughter moved listeners to tears

Unless you’ve been living in complete isolation for the past few days, you’ll know that one of the world’s most famous rappers released an album on Friday (July 12).

Yes, the one and only Eminem released “The Death of Slim Shady” last week and fans couldn’t wait to head over to Spotify and listen to all 18 songs.

However, not everyone seems to have the same music etiquette, which prompted the 51-year-old “Lose Yourself” rapper to give instructions on how to listen to the new album after a “devastating” song about his daughter left listeners in tears.

The song, titled “Temporary,” features the vocals of Eminem’s daughter, who now works as a podcaster and social media influencer, and whom he has with his longtime ex Kimberly Anne “Kim” Scott.

The song is believed to be a love letter from the rapper to his eldest daughter Hailie, written as if he had died.

While the introduction features lines spoken and sung by Hailie herself, the rapper can later be heard telling listeners: “Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song / To help you cope with life now that I’m gone / How should I start? I just want to say /

Take care of Eleana, Stevie and Uncle Nate.”

Eminem continues: “And baby, be strong. I know I was your rock and I still am. / Saying goodbye is never easy. / Why are you crying?

“Just stop, Hailie, baby, dry your eyes, this isn’t forever.”

Since its release, Eminem has had to issue a “Public Service Announcement” to anyone who apparently misheard “The Death of Slim Shady.”

The “Like Toy Soldiers” hitmaker told his 43.4 million followers on Instagram: “‘Death of Slim Shady’ is a concept album, so if you listen to the songs in the wrong order, they might not make sense.”

“Enjoy.”

Unsurprisingly, fans couldn’t wait to share their reaction to the instructions. One Instagram user wrote: “I don’t think I’ve ever shuffled an Eminem album before.”

“Who the hell shuffles an album?” shouted a second, while a third chimed in, “Eminem is the only rapper that makes me stay awake and listen to the entire new album without interruption.”

A fourth criticised Eminem’s younger listeners: “The fact that he has to tell people not to listen to a new album in the wrong order or mix the music says so much about this generation.”

And another raved: “None of the songs on the album are skippable.”

And one final Instagram user pleaded: “Can we PLEASE make listening to ENTIRE albums as one cohesive piece of art normal again!!?!”
