The news of Doherty’s death came in the early hours of Sunday morning. The actress died at the age of 53 after a years-long battle with cancer, her publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed to We weekly.

Doherty played Brenda Walsh (twin sister of Brandon from Priestly) in four seasons of the cult series.
