Dave Grohl attacks Taylor Swift’s Eras tour: “We actually play live”

At a Foo Fighters concert in London on Saturday, frontman Dave Grohl seemed to take a swipe at Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour.

During the show, which took place at the London Stadium, Grohl took a short break to joke with the audience and mention that Swift’s tour was currently taking place at London’s Wembley Stadium.

He then made a comment about how while Swift was doing her “Eras Tour,” the Foo Fighters were doing an “Errors Tour” because “we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few damn mistakes.”

“That’s because we actually play live, huh?!” he said, shrugging as the crowd applauded. “I’m just saying. We’re a live band. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”

Grohl’s mention of Swift comes as a surprise, considering he has complimented her in the past. During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Cordon in 2018, Grohl told a story about him and Swift performing together at a party hosted by Paul McCartney.

“She gets up and starts playing this song, and it sounds familiar,” he said. “And I’m a little off track and I look at my wife and I’m like, ‘What song is that? I know that song, what song is that?’ And she played the song ‘Best of You’ by the Foo Fighters. … She sang it so beautifully, it sounded so great.”

Neither Grohl’s nor Swift’s representatives immediately responded to a request for comment.
