Japanese dubbed version of “Mechamato Movie” with top voice actors comes to Malaysian cinemas

KUALA LUMPUR, January 23 — The Japanese dubbed version of the local animated film Mechamato film will be released in Malaysian cinemas from January 25th.

With a list of the best Japanese voice actors, Mechamato film will be shown in 60 cinemas nationwide.

The voice actors involved include big names like Kenjiro Tsuda, who has worked on famous anime Jujutsu Kaisen and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, known for his role in the Demon Hunter Series.

Amato, the main character of the animated film, is voiced by Ayumu Murase, who has already appeared in several anime projects, including Haikyuu! And Goodbye, Don Glees!

The Japanese version of Mechamato film is released just one week after its theatrical debut in Japan on January 19th.

Mechamato film is currently showing in more than 30 cinemas in Japan, as part of a collaboration between local animation studio Monsta, Astro Shaw and AEON Entertainment Japan.

Monsta CEO Nizam Abd Razak said their strategic partner in Japan advised them to use the talents of famous voice actors, New Straits times.

“We found that the marketing style in Japan is quite different. Their voice actors have their own fan base and appeal.

“We received many enthusiastic reactions from the audience at the Japanese premiere of Mechamato film.

“They did not expect that Malaysia would be able to produce an international standard cartoon whose storyline would keep their children glued to their seats for 116 minutes,” he said.

Apart from that, the Mechamato The series was also the first Malaysian animation title to be shown on Japanese national television network Tokyo MX.

Previously, Mechamato film fAfter its initial release in 2022, the film was an overwhelming success, grossing a total of over RM36 million.
