Taylor Swift jokes she may have broken a piano during the Eras tour

Taylor Swift joked that she may have finally broken her flower-painted piano during the acoustic portion of night two in Milan, Italy.

“So the acoustic part is the part of the show that I look forward to every night because it’s always different,” Swift said, beginning her song selection for guitar. As she strummed a few chords at the end of the Eras Tour runway, she said, “It’s also an opportunity for me to hang out with you wild people here.”

Swift then launched into a mashup of “Mr. Perfectly Fine” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and the title track from Red (Taylor’s Version). The light-up wristbands bathed the San Siro stadium in bright cherry red.

“That’s why he turns around in my head, comes back to me burning red, and you’re Mr. Perfectly Fine,” Swift concluded, passionately strumming the last few notes of the mixed songs.

She exchanged her six-string instrument for an 88-key instrument.

“If you like tonight’s song selection, you can thank the audience from last night,” she said at the piano. “You were so generous to us. You made us feel at home here. It was truly an unforgettable experience and so… I really just wanted to find out what songs I could play that you would most like to hear.”

Swift performed “Getaway Car” from “Reputation” and the crowd went wild. She paused after one line after a chord sounded wrong. A production staff member came onstage as the wristbands turned bright green to help. He opened the lid of the piano, which wouldn’t close. Swift said she didn’t need to close it, and as he left, she joked, “We finally broke this thing.”

“This is all totally…” she began to say as she pushed the piano cover shut. She went back to “Reputation” and the Swifties in the audience were delighted.

After the first chorus she asked: “Did I make the right choice?”

The Italian crowd roared. They broke into “Out of the Woods” from “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

So far, Swift has not performed 17 songs from her 11 studio albums on the Eras Tour. Her next concert city is Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
