Emma Roberts reveals she cried when this famous actress picked up her son Rhodes, 3, on set

The actress also shared that her son is slowly starting to understand some things about her job as an actress, including her changing hairstyles.

Emma Roberts opens up about an emotional moment when one of her co-stars picked up her son Rhodes for the first time.

The American Horror Story star, 33, shared during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, July 9, that her three-year-old son still doesn’t understand her job as an actress – or the importance of her interactions with other legendary actors.

“He definitely didn’t understand (my job) when he came on set (of Maybe I’ll do it) and Diane Keaton picked him up and I was like, ‘Oh my God. I have more tears in my eyes than the day you were born,'” Roberts told guest host Kathryn Hahn.

When Hahn asked if she took any “photos” to capture this special moment, the actress admitted that she did not because she was “trying to enjoy the moment.”

“Big mistake. Huge,” Roberts added as the audience laughed. “Every time I think, ‘I’m present,’ I think, ‘I should have taken a picture.’ Why was I present? Take a picture.”

While she noted that her son may not understand these things, there were other things that stood out to him – including the different hairstyles that go along with her various film roles.

“He understands when my hair looks different and says, ‘Take it off.’ And I say, ‘I can’t take it off now. Eventually I can, but not now,'” Roberts says, laughing.

“And I’m scared if I get a job and have to dye my hair a different color… and I won’t be able to take it off,” she added with a laugh.

Hahn responded that her job “must be really weird” for a “kid,” and Roberts agreed: “I mean, when you think about it, it’s weird. Your mom comes home and says, ‘Hi, I’m,’ and you have a different color hair. That’s a little weird.”

However, she added that Rhodes, who she has with ex Garret Hedlund, enjoyed reaping the benefits of her work as an actress, including free “snacks” on her film sets.

The actress had already revealed in April that her toddler had experienced Disneyland for the first time. On Instagram, she shared a photo with her son in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. In the photo, Roberts can be seen sitting on a bench with her arm around her son, who is looking out over the moat.

“The only thing that could make the most magical place on earth even more magical? Seeing it for the first time with your son 🌟 @disneyland 🩵 @disneyparks 📸,” Roberts captioned the photo.

In her Instagram stories, she also gave a glimpse into her magical day, showing her and her little boy walking through the park together and trying out a few rides.
