Insights into Phil Foden’s life with his extremely private girlfriend Rebecca, 22, and his famous children

Phil Foden, 24, lives and breathes football, and his social media is full of photos documenting his successful career. But one very important person the Manchester City midfielder largely stays out of the limelight is his His 22-year-old partner Rebecca Cooke, the mother of his three children.

The couple are said to have met as teenagers at a party in Stockport and now live in Prestbury. The Manchester City striker temporarily left the tournament when Rebecca went into labour while the star was playing in Germany and giving birth to the family’s second son. At the time, a spokesman said: “Phil Foden has temporarily left the England camp and has returned to the UK for urgent family reasons.”

Little is known about Phil and Rebecca’s love story, other than the fact that they have a young family. The footballer was just 18 when they welcomed their eldest son Ronnie in January 2019, followed by a daughter named True in July 2021.

Rebecca has been photographed supporting Phil at soccer games, cheering and taking photos with their children. Aside from these public appearances, Rebecca stays away from the spotlight, rarely appears on Phil’s social media and keeps her profile private.

In April 2024, the couple announced the expectation of their third child by sharing photos of their lavish baby shower on their son Ronnie’s official Instagram account.

Children

Since giving birth to his eldest child, Phil has made some rare comments on fatherhood, telling Manchester City he cried during the birth and that it “changed his life”.

“I was there when the baby was born. I walked out of the room, shed a few tears and then went back in as if nothing had happened. I’m not the kind of person who cries in front of others. I like being alone, but I was in the room, watching it happen and it was a special moment. Life is changing.”

When talking about balancing career and family, he said there are pros and cons. While he said he has had to “sacrifice” some important moments in his children’s lives, he really appreciates the time he gets to spend with them.

“I go home and see him smiling, so there are more important things to worry about than a bad session. When you have a child, you look at things differently,” Phil explained.

Phil occasionally shares photos of his children on social media

Although he says he is “really enjoying” being a father, he has spoken openly about the difficulties of spending time away from home. “I was there when he started crawling but I think I was in London when he started walking,” he said, adding: “It’s unfortunate to miss out on things like that but it’s a sacrifice he’ll appreciate when he’s older.”

The father of three shared a handful of sweet photos with his children, including one from Ronnie’s first birthday in 2020 and another of his son proudly wearing his medal. “What a day yesterday. A cup final win at Wembley, an assist and the best player. And then I come home and see this… the stuff dreams are made of!!,” he wrote.

The Manchester City star shared a rare photo of his family

Most recently, he took to the field with his two lookalike children, who wore blue outfits and had blonde hair, and their mother, who looked glamorous in a blue figure-hugging dress that revealed her stomach.

The famous son of a footballer

Ronnie became an overnight internet sensation in June 2023 after Phil set up an Instagram account for him, which now has nearly 4 million followers.

“His personality is what made him who he is. I think he went quite viral after (we) won the Champions League. He just reminds me of myself when I was a kid and he’s very funny,” Phil told Sky Sports News.

Ronnie has his own Instagram account

“I couldn’t believe it. Every comment on my social media page was asking to see him. So I thought I’d give the fans what they wanted and set up an account for him and it just took off.”

Phil and Rebecca announced the news that their family is growing via Ronnie’s account.

Posing for a rare family photo, Phil and Ronnie wore matching black outfits while Rebecca held her daughter True, who wore a similar blue dress to her mother. Rebecca’s growing baby bump was just visible in the figure-hugging dress, which matched the blue and white color scheme of the balloons and flowers.

The Foden family home

Phil previously lived with his parents in Chester. He is said to have moved out of the family home, which he bought for £2.8 million, in 2021 and is moving into his own property with Rebecca.

Now it is reported that the footballer and his partner live in a five-bedroom house in Prestbury, which is estimated to be worth £3 million.
