Trump “authorized” GoFundMe for shooting victims and raises nearly million – Kid Rock and Dana White among prominent donors

Numerous conservative personalities have donated money to the victims of the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on a GoFundMe page – the total amount of donations is now almost $2 million.

The former president survived an assassination attempt and suffered a gunshot wound to the ear. One participant in the demonstration died and two were seriously injured.

Following this shocking incident, Meredith O’Rourke, Trump’s finance director and senior advisor, launched a GoFundMe page authorized by President Trump for the victims of the tragedy.

“All donations go to support these proud Americans as they mourn and recover. May God bless and unite our nation,” said the fundraiser, which had raised more than $1.8 million as of Sunday afternoon.

Celebrities flocked to the fundraiser, donating significant amounts in the day since the shocking shooting. Musician and Trump supporter Kid Rock and Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White each donated $50,000 to the fund.

“I am absolutely sickened and in shock,” White said on his Instagram account Saturday night after learning that the former president had been shot. “I can’t WAIT to be on stage with him on Thursday to introduce him at the Republican National Convention and tell the WORLD exactly what a friend and man I KNOW!!”

Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick – whom the former president had pledged his support when the shooting broke out – and his wife also donated to the fund.

A gunman lurking on a rooftop fired several shots from his AR-15 rifle into the venue just 15 minutes into the former president’s rally. Amid a rapid series of bangs, Trump dropped to the ground and ducked behind his lectern. Secret Service agents swarmed the stage, hoisted the Republican candidate up and escorted him to safety off the stage.

The former president said he was “fine” and grateful that God had prevented the “unthinkable.”

On Truth Social, he announced that he would leave for the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon “as planned”: “Due to the horrific events of yesterday, I was going to postpone my trip to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention for two days, but I have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter’ or potential assassin to force a change of schedule or anything else on me.”

The suspected shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was killed by authorities at the scene.

The two injured victims have yet to be identified, but on Sunday morning, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced the identity of the shooting victim: Corey Comperatore.

Comperatore was a former fire chief and, according to his relatives, had just turned 50.

“Corey died a hero,” Shapiro said. “Corey threw himself at his family last night to protect them. Corey was the best of us.”
