Ivanka Trump stands by her father after the brutal assassination attempt.

The former First Daughter met Donald Trump when he arrived in Bedminster, New Jersey, on the Saturday evening after the assassination.

The two are very close. She spoke to him on the phone while he was in hospital on Saturday evening, sources close to the campaign told DailyMail.com.

“She is currently in Bedminster, where she spent most of the summer, and met him last night and this morning when he arrived,” the source said.

Ivanka will join the former president and the rest of the family in Milwaukee on Thursday when Donald Trump officially accepts the nomination as the Republican presidential candidate.

Following the brutal attempt on her father’s life, Ivanka thanked her supporters on social media and said she would “pray for America” ​​after this act of “senseless violence.”

She also thanked the Secret Service for its intervention in arresting the shooter.

“I love you, daddy, today and always,” the former First Daughter wrote on X.

Ivanka added: “Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania.”

“I am grateful to the Secret Service and all other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country.”

She also said she believed her mother Ivana was watching over her father.

“Two years ago today my mother passed away. I believe she was watching over Dad last night when an attempt was made on his life. I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she left behind,” Ivanka wrote on social media on Sunday morning.

Trump returned to his New Jersey residence after his release from the hospital, where he is spending the summer. He and the rest of his family have homes on the grounds of his Trump Bedminster golf club.

He suffered a minor injury in the shooting – a bullet grazed his right ear and left a streak of blood on his face.

The shooter and a participant in the rally were killed. Two other spectators were injured.

Trump’s campaign team announced that he would travel to Milwaukee as planned and attend the Republican Party Convention.
