Donald Trump will put the country in order

You’ve heard it a million times, but it’s true. This year’s election couldn’t be more consequential – especially for the people of Michigan.

As a former congressman, ambassador, and current chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, I have traveled the state and spoken to residents in every part of the state. This November, the issues that impact our daily lives will be on the ballot.

Republicans from across the country, myself included, will soon descend on Milwaukee to officially nominate President Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for President of the United States. We will leave the Republican National Convention focused, motivated, and united behind our candidate and his vision to “Make America Great Again.”

That vision? Solving the problems at the kitchen table that keep you awake at night.

Families are having a harder time putting food on the table. Inflation in Michigan is rising to 19.8%, costing the average household at least $990 more per month. Since January 2021, we’ve spent $9,231 more on transportation, $4,226 more on energy, $3,716 more on food, and $3,762 more on housing.

And our wages haven’t increased. Michiganders are actively losing money under this administration. Money is being taken from their college funds, medical bills, and emergency funds.

Not to mention the record high gasoline prices we have experienced.

But we need look no further than Biden, Whitmer and Michigan Democrats’ love affair with electric vehicles to know that not only are they out of touch with voters, they also do not have our best interests in mind. Biden’s commitment to electric vehicles will hurt thousands of Michigan residents.

We will lose jobs. Some will lose their careers and their livelihoods. There is no other way to put it.

Democrat policies have long failed Michigan, leaving a state that borders Canada plagued by crime on its southern border. We remember the tragic story of Ruby Garcia, the Grand Rapids woman murdered by an illegal immigrant.

Our state is also impacted by the volumes of fentanyl being smuggled into our country. In the last three years, Michigan State Police have made two seizures of fentanyl on the scale expected in the southern border states. In 2023, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Detroit Field Division seized 70% more fentanyl than in 2022. This epidemic is clearly getting worse.

These problems are reason enough to vote Republican in the election this November.

But after Biden’s disastrous performance in the debate, it is clear that he is unfit and unfit to be the leader of the free world.

Donald Trump will fix our economy, secure our southern border, and protect our manufacturing jobs. Actions like eliminating taxes on tips and promoting American goods will have a major impact on our daily lives and ensure that our wages are more than just a means of survival.

While the Democratic Party argues and privately plans who might get the coveted job as Biden’s successor should he drop out of the race, we are focused on electing a candidate who is committed to building a better America for generations to come.
