Michigan State Basketball reaches top 5 for elite big man Trent Sisley

The Michigan State basketball team is in the midst of summer practice workouts, and the team’s social media pages are sharing some stirring workout videos, but Tom Izzo is continuing to work out off the court.

In fact, he and his newly formed team have been intensively looking for new employees.

And the newest member of the team may have just helped Michigan State secure a spot as a top 2025 destination. Four-star big man Trent Sisley just announced his top five schools, and Michigan State made it. It looks like Saddi Washington has some work to do here.

So Iowa, Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Purdue are the final teams left for Sisley, which isn’t a huge surprise considering he just announced an official visit schedule last week that includes Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State and Purdue. He’s clearly gearing up to make a decision as he enters his senior year, and the Spartans will have some work to do.

Being from Indiana, Sisley will likely choose the Hoosiers and Boilermakers early on. He grew up watching those teams in his own backyard, but Michigan State has attracted some Indiana kids in the past, even though the Hoosiers have had plenty of in-state stars.

Sisley is the 73rd recruit in the 2025 class and also the 19th best power forward according to the composite. At 6’10” and 200 pounds, he probably needs to put on some muscle or grow an inch or two (I’m not sure how likely that is) if he wants to play comfortably at power forward in the Big Ten. We saw Malik Hall do that at similar size, but he was also built like a truck.

Washington could work wonders with Sisley’s development.
