New VIXEN singer ROSA LARICCHIUTA didn’t know the band’s music before she was asked to join

New VIXEN Singer Rosa Laricchiutawho joined the band last month as a replacement for Lorraine Lewisspoke with the “All bets are off” Podcast with Robby Vegas about her experiences so far with the long-running, all-female rock band. She said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Oh, it’s incredible. I enjoy my time on stage, but I have to say it was a challenge – probably the biggest challenge of my entire career. (Laughs) I didn’t have to learn 11 songs in such a short period of time, but the songs are incredible. I love the songs. I love melodic rock and every song I learned just got better and better. And I thought, ‘Oh my God. I love this. I love this. I love this melody and I love this song.’ And I worked really hard. But I’m really proud of myself. And singing it – at the next level. The girls welcomed me from the first day of rehearsal, from the very beginning. And now I’ve done – what? – three shows. And I honestly feel like I’ve found a family.”

Laricchiuta made her live debut with VIXEN on June 21 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California next to BIG WHITE, BUTCHER And SILENT PROTESTWhen asked what was going through her mind during this first show, Pink said: “Well, I was really excited because I’m all over the place because I’m so overwhelmed and everything is so surreal. But growing up, I always wanted sisters, so now I feel blessed to have three sisters. And I feel – this is funny, but I feel like I’m part of an incredible hockey team doing what I love. (Laughs)”

As for the atmosphere on stage, Pink said: “My heart was beating so fast and I was really grateful that the first show only consisted of six songs. (Laughs) Oh my God. Of course it was adrenaline and good stress. But like I said, the girls really welcomed me from the beginning. And as soon as we were on stage, I felt the energy. Britt‘S (lightningalso known as Brittany Denaro, VIXEN guitarist) infectious mood, Julie‘S (Position, VIXEN Bassist) Energy is just wow. And sometimes I had to say to myself: ‘Pinkfocus on the crowd’ because I was so – I forgot. I was so lost in the energy that I forgot that there was a good crowd ahead of us. And then Roxy (Petrucci) on drums, it’s so much fun. I just wanted to jump up on their podium, but I couldn’t because the podium was so incredibly high. And then on the second and third performance I had a moment. I like to look everyone in the eye. And I tell you, it’s intense, it’s incredible, but most of all I’m having a blast.”

When asked whether she was aware of this VIXENs legacy, before being asked if she would like to join the band, she said, “Unfortunately, no… The first thing, the first thing I said was, ‘Oh my God. It’s an all-female band. Is this really happening?’ Because, like I said, I never had a sister as a kid and I always dreamed of being in an all-girl and all-female band, always. And then the second thing out of my mouth was, ‘This is so awesome.'”

Laricchiuta is a singer, songwriter and performer from Montreal, Quebec. After several years of experience in live shows, she auditioned for the third season (2015) of “The voice”Quebec’s version of the popular television show “The voice”. Pink immediately connected with the legendary Francophone rocker Eric Lapointe and chose him as her trainer. Pink showed a solid stage presence with remarkable intensity and a voice so powerful that she went straight to the grand finale where she shared the stage with DEF LEPPARD, Kelly Clarkson, Jean-Pierre Leloup and her idol, Melissa Etheridge. She made a lasting impression when she won over millions of viewers who named her Quebec’s new “it” rocker. She then released an album in the Quebec market before starting work on her first English-language album in 2016. This album, “Free”was released the following year and at the end of the year she joined the popular American band TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA for their annual mega tour of the United States.

In a recent appearance on the Battleline Podcast, Britt discussed the decision to separate with LewisWhen asked what she would say to fans who are worried that VIXEN bears little resemblance to the band that had its breakthrough in the late 1980s, with Roxy as the only remaining member from VIXEN‘s classic line-up, Britt said: “Yes, well, I think Roxy is definitely committed to preserving the musical integrity of the classic VIXEN. And that’s what she said. And I think, for whatever reason, she feels like this change is going to be positive… So, I’m excited. I trust her. She’s been doing this for a long time and she knows what feels right.”

Britt continued: “Sometimes things take their course. And again, I’m not involved in that decision and I don’t have the freedom to really speak about the reasons behind it. But at the end of the day, I guess it doesn’t matter. We’re moving forward, we’re moving forward, and there’s will new music. And I think it’s going to rock. So I’m very excited.”

Britt continued to discuss the importance of VIXEN‘s new singer on a personal level, explaining: “Ultimately, you have to be talented, of course, but you also have to just be a good and cool person, because we spend a lot of time together. I mean, that is, musicians get paid to travel and then we play the gig, but what are we paid to do? To travel. I mean, I flew to South America for a 30-minute show and then I flew right back. So that’s a lot of travel time and not a lot of time to play. And that’s a lot of time you have to spend together, and when you’re with someone who just drives you crazy, that’s the worst thing ever. And you can feel that on stage too. So you know the chemistry is right when – you can feel that on stage, I mean. And I think the audience can always feel it too.”
