Michigan football recruiting rankings and what comes next after the latest signing

It was a productive summer for Michigan football recruiting. The Wolverines entered the month of June with just five total commitments for the 2025 recruiting class.

The Wolverines, however, did it in June and with official visits, and since then, a class that was ranked outside the top 50 is ranked 12th overall in the class of 2025, according to the 247 Sports team rankings, which are based on the 247 Sports overall rankings.

Michigan football has 12 commitments since the beginning of June. 11 of those are for the 2025 class and Phillip Wright, a three-star wideout who committed to the Wolverines on Saturday, is the latest. The other commitment is elite 2026 quarterback Brady Hart.

Things are looking good for 2025. Michigan Football is still considered the frontrunner for top-100 wideout Andrew Marsh and is also still in the running for another top-100 receiver in Derek Meadows.

Four-star cornerback Jayden Sanders is expected to attend the recruiting BBQ later this month, which could be a great opportunity for the Wolverines to land the 6-foot-2 cornerback. Michigan is also on the rise with five-star prospect Andrew Babalola.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle from Kansas was not projected to the Wolverines, but more than one recruiting expert said Michigan was a leader. All three of those commitments are possible and could happen in the next month or so.

That would give the Wolverines 16 blue-chip commitments for the 2025 class and their first five-star commitment since Will Johnson in 2022. It would also put UM in a strong position to land a top-10 class, which would be impressive considering how things stood at the start of the summer.
