The late Princess Diana is the one who actually invented the revenge dress, and some Swifties believe Taylor Swift may have used this look as a means of getting revenge on controversial music executive Scooter Braun. Swift was getting more daring with her outfits at the time, which she proved with a sexy off-the-shoulder black dress on “Late Night.” And some fans were convinced that the look was a revenge dress aimed at Braun. Even “Selling Sunset” star Chrishell Stause spread the theory, writing on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Look at the revenge dress,” along with a side-by-side photo of Swift and Princess Diana in their black dresses.

But Swift later denied that she had planned the outfit as a way to get revenge on Braun in royal style. “Access to Hollywood” Later that month, she teased, “I just liked the dress. It was a black dress, which I liked.” Whether planned or not, she looked fierce, sophisticated, and absolutely stunning. We don’t doubt that Braun heard all the talk about how incredible she looked.
