Sista Afia has released a diss track for Efia Odo amidst their ongoing feud. Ghanaians have given their opinions on the song. The song has been trending since its release.

In response, some people wondered why she couldn’t release a similar song to be nominated and awarded at the recent TGMA event.

A few months ago, Sista Afia expressed her displeasure at the low number of award nominations, despite her persistent efforts and annual submissions.

In an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel FM’s “Y’aduma Nie” show on Angel 102.9 FM, Sista Afia shared her concerns and frustrations regarding the Telecel Ghana Music Awards nomination process.

“I don’t understand why I don’t get nominations,” she noted. “Every year I submit my work and make my contribution, but I don’t get recognized.”

Sister Afia hinted that the awarding process could be subjective, saying: “The award is managed by someone and it is not as if it belongs to my family. Whatever decisions they make are entirely up to them.”

She revealed that she had spoken to the PR team of Charterhouse, the organizer of the awards ceremony, to understand why her song “Asuoden” was not nominated.

“My point was that ‘Asuoden’ was a very popular song. We submitted it for nomination hoping to get recognition, but we didn’t receive any nominations, not even one. That’s where my concerns come from.”

Sista Afia further explained that Charterhouse’s PR team informed her that “Asuoden” was released at a time that did not fit into the nomination period for this year.

However, she considered this explanation to be inadequate, as she had observed that many other artists who released songs around the same time still received nominations.

Anyway, some of her fans believe that after releasing this diss track to her arch enemy, she finally has a chance to win an award at the next edition of TGMA.
